Exhibiting at SCARdiff 2014

On Sunday 19th October, my husband - Elliott, nephew - Jake and I, drove the four hour journey to Cardiff from Essex to exhibit at this year’s SCARdiff event. It was the first horror convention I have attended as an exhibitor so I didn’t know what sort of response I would get, especially as it was a horror convention and not a paranormal one.

Well, what can I saw, the turn out and effort was absolutely immense. People turned up in full costume and fancy dress. They made every effort to resemble their favourite characters from horror movies – scaring the life out of each other. It was brilliant and surprisingly, I had a lot of interest in my writing, two published novels, and my online book launch. I think it helped that my future in writing will be prodominantly horror with a hint of paranormal thrown in for good measure.

It was great for networking - I swapped information with SANITARIUM MAGAZINE, got to put a name to the faces of HORROR INSIDE THE BOX (check out their review of It Found Me HERE) and also got chatting to a couple of audio publishers.

I really do recommend SCARdiff for anyone who loves horror and anything a bit extraordinary. There were other exhibitors there selling small bottles filled with random ‘props’ from horror movies (Shottle Bop), art, jewellery and the exhibitor next to us spent her time doing live drawings of people with a twist and actually capturing them by turning them into zombies.

It went so well that I came straight home and put my name down for my next convention, Paracon UK later this month (Saturday 22nd November) which is for all those who love the paranormal. I can’t wait!
